10 WEEKS

Dolly is an amazing 10 wks old now. She has grown so big. She is eating hay and grain now on a regular basis. Still have yet to catch her drinking water. She now has her pal Jakobe(our future herd sire) to run about and play with. Dolly is very much looking forward to warmer weather when she can finally go outside and run in the pen. She is now only on two bottles a day 8 oz in the morning and 4 oz at bedtime. We are slowly weaning her, she should be finished in about two more weeks (12 wks of age)

Dolly FRIDAY

As you can see Dolly was disbudded a week  ago and is doing just fine. She had a slight swelling of her upper eyelid after but it resolved shortly. The purple coloring is from Blu-Kote, its an antiseptic medication and very messy. Dolly had her whole face and side covered in it by the time I applied it to her bud spots. Dolly is now drinking 3 bottles a day @ 7 oz. She is a little piggy. Eating more hay & grain now but won't even touch the water that I offer her.

Dolly 4 Weeks Old

Dolly is growing like a weed. Most of her x-small sweaters are starting to get snug on her so it's
time to graduate to smalls. We gave her the first BoSe shot and vitB last week and she did fine. She is almost 4 weeks old now. She is still on 4 bottles a day @ 5 oz each. Dolly was recently introduced to grain and minerals. She has nibbled on both but is not too sure what its for. She is also experimenting with her hay a lot more throughout the day. I may have started to feel some horn buds developing also, so that will mean a trip to Three Kids Farm to have them removed very soon.

Friday & Saturday Dolly's Diaries was sorta on hold due to her mommy getting a new gaming computer and everything had to be loaded into it.

Tired Baby

Dolly had a full tummy after breakfast and decided a nap was in order.

Dolly Day

Dolly wearing her black star jacket she likes it but keeps trying to chew the button off the pocket.
Dolly get's her first hay at her new home. I introduced her to it just as her real mom would have. It took her about 10 minute of staring at the hay like it was some kind of monster hanging off her crate before she decided to investigate. She's really too young to actually eat her hay but she can nibble on it a bit and get her rumen use to it for the future. Right now Dolly is happy to have this new toy :)

Then Dolly found her new Daddy and gave him lots of kisses.
That was a very exciting morning. After hopping around the kitchen for a bit it was time for Dolly to take a mid morning nap, sweet dreams baby goat.

Dolly's first day

Dolly's First Day

Dolly got picked up about 10am February 4th 2014. She was giving to me as a present for my 40th birthday by my friend Cathy. We stopped to McDonald's  for lunch on our way home and of course she got lots of smiles from the drive through attendee. After we got home we put her in her new living area.
Dolly's in her new bed.

Dolly getting acquainted to the World of Warcraft.
Dolly's first bottle in her new home.
Dolly seemed cold without her foster pen kids to help keep her warm so we put a coat on her.
